Now Hiring: Plumbing Apprentice

Shop Location: NE Tacoma, WA

Service Areas: King, Pierce, & Thurston Counties

Schedule: Full-Time (40 hrs./week), with on-call rotations, weekends, and occasional holidays

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Plumbing Apprentice, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed plumber. Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate commitment to learning and advancing in the plumbing trade, including attending required apprentice classes, trainings, and company-provided development meetings
  • Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing fixtures, pipes, drains, and water heaters
  • Operate plumbing tools and equipment safely
  • Lift, move, and transport heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Work in crawlspaces, attics, trenches, and various outdoor conditions
  • Help diagnose plumbing issues and work with the licensed plumber to implement solutions
  • Maintain clean, organized job sites, tools, and equipment
  • Drive company vehicles to job sites across King, Pierce, and Thurston Counties
  • Follow local building codes, UPC regulations, and company safety policies
  • Communicate professionally with customers and team members
  • Assist with documenting materials, job notes, and inventory
  • Participate in rotating on-call shifts and occasional emergency services
  • Help the team meet performance and service goals by contributing positively to each job
  • Ask customers for reviews and provide excellent customer interactions to support company reputation and growth
  • Help maintain clean, stocked, and organized company vans, shop, and warehouse areas

What We’re Looking For

  • 0-3 years plumbing experience (residential or light commercial)
  • Enrollment in (or willingness to enroll in) a plumbing trainee or vocational training program
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, crawl, climb, and work in confined spaces
  • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
  • Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
  • Customer service or construction experience
  • Familiarity with CRM or invoicing tools (Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, etc.)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Interest in long-term advancement within the plumbing trade
